Professional Aviation Standards
Flying historic aircraft requires the same discipline and professionalism as any other form of aviation.
At Liberté Flights, our operations sit within New Zealand’s regulated Adventure Aviation framework, designed specifically for commercial aviation experiences such as aerobatic and specialised flight operations.
Our aircraft operate under the authority of the New Zealand Warbirds Association, through Classic Flyers, in accordance with Civil Aviation Authority Rule Part 115 – Adventure Aviation Certification.
This framework ensures every flight is conducted safely, professionally and responsibly.

Adventure Aviation Certification (CAA Part 115)
New Zealand’s CAA Part 115 Adventure Aviation Certification governs commercial aviation experiences such as aerobatic flights and other specialised flight operations.
As a licensed operator within this framework, Liberté Flights operates to strict aviation standards covering pilot training, operational procedures, aircraft maintenance and safety management systems.
This certification ensures that adventure aviation activities are conducted within a structured and professionally managed aviation safety system.
Our Pilots
Every flight is conducted by our pilots, who hold a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and are qualified under CAA Part 115 Adventure Aviation operations.
This qualification allows them to carry passengers on commercial adventure flights under New Zealand’s regulated aviation framework.
Beyond licensing requirements, our pilots bring extensive flying experience and a deep understanding of historic aircraft.
Their role is not only to fly the aircraft, but to guide the experience — ensuring guests feel comfortable, confident and able to enjoy the flight.
Maintaining Historic Aircraft
Operating historic aircraft requires careful and ongoing maintenance.
Our aircraft are maintained to the standards required for flying warbirds, with inspections and servicing carried out by qualified aircraft engineers.
As a CAA Part 115 adventure aviation operator, we follow approved maintenance programmes and operational procedures designed to ensure the continued airworthiness of every aircraft we operate.
This ensures our aircraft remain both authentic to their heritage and professionally maintained for flight operations.
